Four outlaws arrested in Madaripur

Arms recovered from Pabna village

Shibchar police in a six-hour long drive yesterday arrested four outlaws including Hasa Bhuiyan.

Police also recovered a US made revolver and three bullets from their possession.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Shibchar police station Abdul Jalil said, acting on a tip off, four police teams led SI Sheikh Abdullah, Monir Hossain and ASI Mobarak Hossain launched the joint drive in the morning in Nilokhi Kawarhat area of Shibchar.

During the drive, the gang members jumped into the river to flee but failed.

Police arrested top outlaw Hasa Bhuiyan, Rafique Bhuiyan, Mahbub Bhuiyan and Jahangir Bepari.

Hasa Bhuiyan is an accused in several cases including one for looting Duttapara police outpost, police said.

According to our correspondent in Pabna, Rab on Friday morning recovered two firearms and eight bullets from Shimulchara village under Ataikula police station.

Acting on a tip-off, a Rab-12 team raided Shimulchara Primary School premises when the outlawed operatives were holding a meeting. Sensing presence of Rab, the criminals managed to flee leaving behind a 303 rifle, a pipe gun and eight bullets of 303 rifle.
